SALT LAKE CITY – A man was seriously injured early Saturday around 3:21 a.m. after he was struck by a car whose driver reportedly failed to stop after hitting him.

The man was struck by the car in the Glendale neighborhood near 1040 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City police said in a news release

When police arrived on the scene, they found the man seriously injured. After he was admitted, he was taken to hospital.

The man did not appear to be in a crosswalk when he was struck by a car traveling north on Redwood Road. According to police, the driver of the car did not stop after hitting the man.

Police said they did not have a description of the driver or the car. Anyone with information about the car or driver is asked to call 801-799-3000.

SLCPD said in the news release that callers can report anonymously through City Protect, an anonymous tip line.
