The music lineup at East Trail Park offers “super fun” time for the whole family

From Kootenay artists to out-of-town headliners, Music in the Park promises to bring unforgettable evenings to Gyro Park this June, July and August.

“As always, it will be a super fun time for all the family and visitors, with something for everyone in terms of musical genres,” said Nadine Tremblay, executive director of Trail and District Arts Council.

“I don’t think there’s anything better in the summer than sitting by the river in a beautiful evening park setting and enjoying live music with your friends, family and community.”

Traditionally, the Trail Maple Leaf Band and Trail Pipe Band with highland dancers will open the season in the East Trail park on Thursday, June 27 from 6:15 PM to 8:00 PM

In the event of rain – or smoke – performances will move indoors to The Bailey Theatre, so even the popular night markets are unlikely to be cancelled.

Plus, there are a few new features this season.

“Trail Arts Council received a ReDi grant from Columbia Basin Trust to build a shade and backdrop structure for the stage and provide shuttle bus service to and from the park to downtown Trail on night market nights,” notes Tremblay on.

All this at a price that is right; $3 per person is a suggested donation, or park visitors can purchase a season pass for $30.

And don’t forget a garden chair.

As part of Music in the Park 2024, Tremblay says the community is once again partnering with Trail’s Incredible Farmers Market for two special night markets, from 5 to 8:30 p.m., on July 18 and August 15.

“The night markets are great events that bring the community together with music, food, a beer garden and a farmers market,” Tremblay adds.

“So much fun at Gyro Park.”

Here’s the setup:

June 27: The Trail Maple Leaf Band and Trail Pipe Band with highland dancers;

July 4: White Lightning and John Hewitt Band;

July 11: Ron Halliday Band and Gabriel Palatchi Trio;
