Concord pre-orders will go live along with the official price reveal

Announced this time last year with an incredibly vague teaser trailer, Sony’s live-service multiplayer first-person shooter ‘Concord’ finally got its official launch during last week’s State of Play. At the time, we had little to no idea how the game would generate revenue. Following a leak from PlayStation itself, the console manufacturer has now officially provided full details on Concord’s monetization, post-launch support, and more.

Pam Piscitello – Director of Marketing and Operations at Firewalk – made the announcement on the PlayStation Blog said:

“From the very beginning, we wanted Concord to be a complete, multiplayer-focused experience that combines engaging gameplay, rewarding progression and a robust offering of characters, maps and game modes right from the start, while also creating a platform for us. to evolve and expand the game and the universe over time.”

They continued“When Concord launches in August, Concord will debut in a standard edition (available in both physical and digital versions for $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99 / ¥4,480 MSRP) that offers the full Concord experience, including all 16 playable Freegunners, 12 unique maps set on different worlds, and six different team-based game modes, which will be expanded soon after launch with regular post-launch updates for all players at no additional cost.

Interestingly enough, and seemingly as a way to generate more buzz around the game, the team has revealed this “When you pre-order an edition of Concord, you’ll receive five codes for our Beta Early Access weekend in July, allowing you to team up with your friends on PS5 and PC and take on rival teams across the galaxy. Stay tuned for more details about the beta in the coming weeks, including Early Access and Open Beta dates, and more.”

By opting for a mid-price strategy alongside the promise that all future content will be free, Concord still has a chance to thrive post-release – as long as players give it a chance. We’ll have to wait and see.
