Columbus Crew elevates Issa Tall to GM while Tim Bezbatchenko joins Black Knight Football

Columbus, site of the 2024 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target, has in many ways set a standard for the entire league since new ownership took over in 2019. In addition to trophies on the field, the crew completed construction of world-class facilities Field and the OhioHealth Performance Center.

The Crew is widely considered an MLS Cup contender in 2024 and is looking to continue the organization’s ‘One Club’ vision and partnership with Crew’s technical leadership. That came to fruition last year when Columbus tied a club record with 57 points (third in the MLS Supporters’ Shield) and scored an MLS-best 67 goals in the regular season.

“In addition to having strong relationships with Wilfried Nancy, our players and staff, Issa is highly qualified to be our general manager as one of MLS’s most respected soccer managers based on his time with the Crew, Toronto FC and the league office . as well as FIFA headquarters,” said Dee and Jimmy Haslam. “While some mid-season transitions will present challenges, we are confident that Issa’s vast experience and familiarity with our club’s personnel and long-term strategy will seamlessly allow us to continue our success in 2024 and beyond.

“We also thank Tim for his leadership and dedication to the club and its fans since we first joined the Crew family. Tim has been an integral part of our success over the past five years and has positioned our team for the future consistently compete for championships. We wish him, Annie and their family the best as they begin this new chapter in their lives,” the Haslams added.
