Tottenham want to sign Amadou Onana

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Everton prop Amadou Onana, amid interest from Arsenal.

Ange Postecoglou wants to further strengthen his selection for next season. After a fairly impressive first season at the north London club, the Australian manager is looking for more depth in the center of the park and according to Ignazio GenuardiTottenham have entered the race for the services of Arsenal target Amadou Onana.

The Belgian midfielder has developed into one of Everton’s first-team mainstays since joining the club in 2022. The 22-year-old has been a consistent performer for both club and country and his work has not gone unnoticed.

Arsenal are one of the clubs quite interested in his services. After falling short again in the Premier League title race, Mikel Arteta is looking to further strengthen his squad. He wants someone who can form a reliable partnership with Declan Rice and Onana is quite high on their wish list.

While the Gunners position themselves to make a move for him, they will face stiff competition from rivals Tottenham for his services. Postecoglou is looking for more depth and quality in the center of the park and with Pierre-Emile Højbjerg likely to leave, the Belgian international could be an ideal replacement.

He is an integral part of Everton’s first team and his contract with them runs until the summer of 2027, but they could still approve his departure amid their financial problems. The Toffees could let him leave for a fee of around €60 million.

Onana will add physicality and defensive cover to the Spurs midfield. The opportunity to play for the Londoners will also be an exciting option for him. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can get the deal done.
