It’s official: the Capital Region is getting another Chick-fil-A

This is where it goes

A sign on Central Avenue confirms that Chick-fil-A is coming soon. The new restaurant is planned for the corner of Central and Colvin, the site of the former Armory Garage car dealership.

The Times Union originally reported that plans for the new chicken restaurant would open this fall, and it appears that work is underway to make that a reality, although the city’s Planning Department has not confirmed this.

Albany would be the latest Chick-fil-A to open in the Capital Region. The chain has opened restaurants in Clifton Park, East Greenbush, Albany Airport and the Thruway rest stop in New Baltimore. Plans for more restaurants are in the works for Latham and Brunswick.

Although the sign is up and work appears to have begun, no opening date has been announced yet.
