Dexter, Helena Esther | Warwick Beacon

Helena Esther Dexter, 82, of Warwick, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Sunny View Nursing Home. Born in Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Raymond R. and Fannie C. (Germond) Dexter.

Helena was a graduate of Warwick Veterans Memorial High School. She later worked as a Customer Sales Representative for Jay Packaging Corporation. Helena was a devoted member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Apponaug, where she served on the Parish Vestry and Parish Activity Group. She was a member of the ADAH Chapter #15 Order of the Eastern Star.

Helena was predeceased by her siblings, Barbara Rusack, Charles Dexter and Raymond R. Dexter.
She is survived by her devoted nieces and nephews, Patricia A. Leatherberry (Gary L.) of Warwick, Barbara M. Beaudry (William) of South Carolina, Charles Dexter of Warwick, her niece-in-law, Joyce Dexter of Coventry, and several great-nephews and second cousins.

Her Requiem Eucharist was celebrated on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 3257 Post Road, Warwick. Burial followed at Pawtuxet Memorial Park in Warwick.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Sunny View Nursing Home for their dedicated care and to Hope Hospice for their support during Helena’s final days.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
